"A painter in the textures, colors and seasons of plants. A garden artisan. Heather has a gorgeous sensibility and an academic knowledge.”

“Through many years of working with Heather, we have created a garden that a friend recently described as “an arboretum.” Heather and her wonderful crew listen and interpret what my dream has been and have helped me create an urban escape.  She is a true pleasure to work with!”

“Atelier Vert has been tending our garden for many years.  Heather is a good communicator, has a beautiful eye, and great plant knowledge. We have undertaken many projects large and small together. The most recent was the replacement of a 50 year old, failing, Photinia hedge that ran the length of our property. Heather selected a handsome planting scheme and oversaw the removal and installation of the new border. We are thrilled with the results! Just as importantly Heather maintains our garden weekly with skill and care. We are happy to enthusiastically recommend Atelier Vert.”

“Your team "tends" the garden, it's not the mow and blow treatment! You care for the environment; both flora and fauna. It's not just organics that you use but often just a more wholistic approach to treating pests and invasive plants. Pruning is done with care. You are creative and caring in plant choice and placement.”

“Heather and her team, including Allison and Maria, have done wonders to our yard. We’ve spent a small fortune landscaping our yard. Then, came the problems. Who tends to this? We tried our routine gardener but he mostly trims and mows. We hired a professional that really didn’t have the skills and our yard was full of sick, buggy and overgrown plants. Heather’s team have restored our yard into a lush fantasy garden. Plants are thriving and are cut and trimmed immaculately. We get compliments all the time on how nice our garden looks. Even more shocking is that we are stunned at how great our yard looks. The birds, bees and flowers are happy too! Thank you Heather, Allison, and Maria for giving us this dream come true.”

Mentorship/Consulting

“I kill mint!”, I said. “I have a black thumb!”,  I said, but Heather was convinced I could nurture a garden and so my journey of a thousand plants began under her tutelage with a handful of beginner containers. While I appreciated the beauty of other people’s garden, I had anxiety around planting my own and was overwhelmed by the unknown. Heather was so encouraging and gave me the gentle push I needed by starting me with a few indestructible plants. As they grew so did my confidence. Heather helped me discover my inner gardener by teaching me the skills needed to grow as metaphorically and literally in the knowledge of zones, light, water, soil, fertilizer and pot size as well as identifying and choosing shade plants and full sun plants; bulbs and tubers and everything in between. Starting with a few foundation plants, I now have an established rhythm of flowering annuals enhancing my evergreen garden. If Heather can convert me from a city girl who didn’t like to get her hands dirty to a girl who likes nothing more then the smell of a freshly opened bag of potting soil, rest assured, you are in good hands.”
